15 Windows keyboard shortcuts

Hey, Welcome to my blog!

Have you ever wondered if you could finish your work faster if you used keyboard shortcuts? Well, there are many keyboard shortcuts you can use for making your work easier and that's exactly what I'll be covering in this blog, I will be going over 15 keyboard shortcuts for Microsoft Windows 10.

Firstly, I will be going over some commonly used ones:

1. Ctrl + C

This keyboard shortcut allows you to copy text from one program

to paste it into another program. This will be useful for people who

use the mouse to copy the text.

2. Ctrl + V

This keyboard shortcut allows you to paste the text you copied into

a program or open window.

3. Ctrl + Alt + Del

Ctrl + Alt + Del brings up a menu that allows you to open the Task

manager, lock the computer, Sign out or Shut down your PC. In

previous versions of windows, using this shortcut would open the

Task manager without showing any menu.

4. Ctrl + Z

This keyboard shortcut can be used to undo your last input. This is

mainly useful in productivity software if you want to undo what

you typed.

5. Ctrl + Y

Ctrl + Y is the shortcut to redo your previous action. This can be

used to restore your work if you deleted it by mistake.

6. Shift + Del

Shift + Del is the shortcut to delete any file/ folder permanently

without sending it to the Recycle bin.

7. Alt + Tab

Alt + Tab brings up a menu that shows all the open programs. You

can tape the Tab key multiple times to switch between

windows. A white outline appears on the selected program.

8. Win + Tab

This shortcut involves holding the Windows key and the Tab key at

the same time to open up Task View, which is similar to the Alt +

Tab menu, but it shows all the previously opened files too. This

shortcut works only on Windows 10.

9. Win + D

Pressing the Windows key and the D key at the same time

minimizes all the windows. You can use this combination again to

maximize the windows again.

10. Win + Shift + S

Using this key combination opens the screenshot interface of

Snip & Sketch. You can use this shortcut to take screenshots

easily. These screenshots are then copied to your clipboard for

further use. This shortcut works only on Windows 10.

Now, I will be going over the keyboard shortcuts that are quite uncommon and many people won't be familiar with. But they are quite helpful in speeding up how you navigate

11. Ctrl + T

This keyboard shortcut can be used to open a new tab in your

web browser. This is surely going to save time as there is no need

of moving your mouse and clicking the new tab button.

12. Ctrl + N

Ctrl + N opens up a new window of your web browser. This is very

similar to the previous shortcut but instead of adding a tab to the

current window, it opens a new window.

13. Win + M

This keyboard shortcut has a striking resemblance to Win + D.

This shortcut minimizes all the open apps and windows. But, you

can't maximize the windows using the same keyboard shortcut.

This is the reason why I recommend you using Win + D over this

shortcut.

14. Alt + f4

Using Alt + f4 closes the application that you are using. If you use

this shortcut on the desktop, Windows will show a menu where

you can Shut down, restart or put your computer to sleep.

15. Win + C

This shortcut opens Cortana, the digital assistant added to

Windows 10. This feature works only on Windows 10.

That's it for now and hope you are going to find these useful. Do let me know if you found this information helpful.
